PLANET
Nowadays it is impossible for us to speak about the contemporary, without questioning our actions and the way they impact on the environment we all live in.
We are very happy to see how, in the last few years, the concept of sustainability has slowly entered the collective daily vocabulary and, above all, in the one of the fashion industry.
It’s been 10 years now, since we started investing our education and dedicating our professional life to it: it all began for us when the conversation around organic cotton was still not widely understood, and was rather considered a hippy wish.
A decade has passed by and, in the meanwhile, we have structured TUG translating our strive for minimising our impact:
PACKAGING
- We ship our products avoiding plastic as much as possible: our boxes are in cardboard (70% recycled), our tissue paper comes from renewable sources, our swing tickets are FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified and hang from a string. All these materials are recyclable or can be absorbed by the environment more quickly than if they were made of plastic.
- Our labels, which have to be in polyester because of colour and washing requirements, are 100% recycled and GRS (Global Recycled Standard) certified.
- We don’t use safety pin to anchor our swing tickets to the garments, and we try to limit our use of tape (when sealing each box) as much as possible.
CO2 EMISSIONS
When selling online we can’t ignore the amount of CO2 emitted when shipping and when powering the website itself.
Thanks to ReteClima we can calculate the CO2 kg we emit. To compensate them, we have contributed to their forestation project of Parco Nord in Milan.
Since our web-store launch, 14 trees have been planted.
You can see our tree-adoption certificates from here: 2019 cert. / 2020 cert. / 2021 cert.
